Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Look at "UsSample

Have you ever seen a celebrity in an advertisement? I believe you have. Whenever you see that person, you are immediately reminded of the brand they represent. These people are referred to as “brand ambassadors”. They are people chosen to promote a company’s product.

We have already learned about our purpose in this world, which is to glorify God and be His witnesses. However, we have to be careful in doing so. Remember, we are Christ’s ambassadors. In other words, we are representatives of Christ. How we act influences how people see God.

1 Peter 3:15-16 tells us exactly how to be God’s ambassadors who deliver His message to other people. It says, “.. do this (explain why we have hope in Christ) with gentleness and respect,” In fact, if we look at another verse in 1 Peter 3, it says, “…be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.” This chapter stresses time and time again to be kind and gentle to one another - even to the point of repaying evil with blessing.

Devotion for Parents
Do a self-evaluation by looking at yourself from your children’s perspective. What do you think they see in you? Do you think they see Christ in the way that you act? Do you think you display the character that 1 Peter 3 says we should have?

Devotion for Kids
It is important to understand your parent’s love and instruction for you. Have you treated your parents with the gentleness, and respect that 1 Peter 3 instructs us to have?

You are the brand ambassador of Christ, as you can see the title -Christian. What kind of characteristics do you think Jesus wants you to specifically emphasize in all the things you do?
