David - Faithful Servant, Friend and KingSample

When I say the word ‘leader,’ what do you think of? The leaders here in this program? The leader of a country - a Prime Minister or President? The captain of a sporting team?
Do you think you are a leader? You might think you’re way too young to be a leader! You are a leader; you can be a leader in your family, with your friends, and at school. You don’t need to wait to be given the title or the job of being a leader before you start learning to be a good one.
Don’t think you’re too young to be a leader; you can begin to be a good leader right now. How you set an example for others, how you treat people, speak, and put God first in your life.
David’s example helps us learn to be a good leader. He was a young boy when the prophet Samuel anointed him to be the next king of Israel. It would be many, many years before he would become king, and in that time, he defeated Goliath, led armies into battle, and grew as a leader.
