A Job For You

So God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women. God gave them his blessing and said: Have a lot of children! Fill the earth with people and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the ocean, the birds in the sky, and every animal on the earth.

Genesis 1:27–28 (CEV)

What is your favorite thing God made? Maybe it’s the bright stars. Or the huge dinosaurs. Maybe beautiful flowers or cuddly puppies.

Isn’t it amazing to think of all the things He made? Rocks as big as mountains. Birds that can fly above rainbows. Frogs that jump from lily pad to lily pad. He sure is a creative God!

Do you know who God put in charge of this whole earth? That’s right—people!

God blessed us with all these things and this beautiful place to live, and then He gave us a job: to take care of it. We can keep the earth clean. We can care for other people. We can take care of animals.

And we can thank God for all the cool things He created.
