Better than a Best Friend

You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me.

Sometimes you get lucky and find a best friend who seems to think the way you think. Just when you start to dream about an ice cream sandwich, they offer you one. When you say, “Let’s go for a bike ride,” they say, “That’s just what I was thinking!”

But even best friends, siblings, and parents don’t always understand you. Sometimes you don’t even understand you.

But God does! Can you believe it? He knows everything about you, like how many hairs are on your head and how fast your heart is beating.

He even knows what you are going to think before you do. He knows what you really want and what you really need. He understands why you do things. There’s no hiding from Him!

God knows it all because He made you and He loves you. You can always talk to Him, knowing He understands you more than anyone else ever will. He really is better than a best friend!

Re-read today's Bible verse, and as you do, think about how God knows the deepest part of you—your heart! Thank Him for knowing you so well!
