The Bible In AustraliaSample

If you are a politician in Victoria or Queensland, you will encounter the Bible every time you head to parliament. Proverbs 11:14 is found in the beautiful mosaic floor of the Victorian Parliament House. And Psalm 127:1 is found in the staircase window in Queensland Parliament House. They are apt messages to anyone considering “going rogue”! We need each other to wisely secure our future. And without that shared dependence on God in his Word, our future is unsafe and uncertain. This is as true in secular Australia as it is anywhere. Although God may not vote Left or Right, his presence through his Word is required for the good of the city (and the bush!).

Are you someone who believes in your own counsel, or are you willing to seek the wisdom of the Lord, and trust him as your watchman and builder?

Father, we pray for those who lead our nation, that together you would provide them the wisdom to govern for the good of all. Amen.
