The Spirit of PrayerSample
for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. (KJV only)
BE STILL
Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, is a recognition of who is in charge. A moment of praise and surrender, ushering us into a space to rest and wait on God.
Finish your prayer time waiting on God, and let him have time to talk, guide and correct you. Don’t miss this part – we don’t want to do all the talking and not get the wisdom of God. Perhaps spend time reading your Bible, worshipping and waiting on God.
Conversations are two ways; the waiting time is letting God’s wisdom and guidance come in. God speaks to different people in different ways! Some will see visions, some will have things pop into their head as a thought, some will get a revelation as they read their Bible, and others will “feel” like they really need to do something. God will speak to you, just give him space and wait! Remember, God wrote a whole book of words to direct, guide and speak to you; he is constantly talking through his Word.
Waiting on God is really important for strength, wisdom, and renewing your hope.
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Prayer: Father, I wait on you for guidance, wisdom, and strength. Lord, I wait on a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. Fill me with your love, renew my hope Lord where I am weary. Father, where I lack wisdom, I ask that you speak clearly to me and guide me in your path of righteousness as I seek you Lord.
KEY PRAYER POINT: PRAY FOR THOSE IN YOUR COMMUNITY WHO DO NOT KNOW JESUS AND FOR PEOPLE TO FIND SALVATION.
