Don't Give Up!

DAY 4 OF 7

Paul

Before meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul hated anyone who believed Jesus was the Messiah. He arrested them, persecuted them, and even approved of their deaths. After discovering the truth, everything changed. He surrendered his life to spreading the gospel.

I would love to tell you that everything becomes easy when you give your life to the Lord, but that is simply not true. During his ministry, Paul was whipped five times by the Jews, beaten with rods three times, stoned once, shipwrecked three times, in constant danger from bandits, hungry, cold, without proper clothing, bitten by a snake, arrested multiple times, and chained to a guard around the clock. In one of his letters to the Corinthians, he wrote that he worked harder, had been imprisoned more often, been flogged more severely, and faced death more times than others.

Yet despite tremendous pain and suffering, Paul never gave up. He relied completely on Christ’s power to carry him through every trial.

Don’t Give Up.

Are you in the middle of something that feels too difficult to continue? These three simple words are for you: don’t give up. There will be days when the storm feels overwhelming and days when you are unsure if you can take another step. In those moments, lean on God.

You may have heard that God will not give you more than you can handle, but that is not what Scripture promises. What He does promise is strength to endure, power to overcome, and grace that leads to everlasting glory.

God never promised there would be no storms, but He does promise to walk through them with you, holding you close every step of the way.

About this Plan

Don't Give Up!

Read the stories of seven people in the Bible who could have given up—but didn’t. Each one was called with a purpose and persevered through difficulties and trials. They were ordinary people, just like you and me. God wants you to know that no matter what you are facing, you don’t have to give up. He is using your story for something good.
