I AMSample

I AM the resurrection and the life.
What Jesus is sharing in this I AM statement is that through Him we can have everlasting life. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are granted everlasting life in heaven.
In today’s passage, Jesus is sitting with a woman named Martha who’s brother just passed away.
Jesus reminds a grieving Martha that her brother will rise again, because her brother believes that Jesus is Lord.
It’s an incredibly hopeful moment in the Bible! While yes, death brings sadness, it also brings celebration when we know that when we follow Jesus we are going to live forever with Him in Heaven.
While Jesus hadn’t died on the cross and rose again when He is sharing this news with Martha, it was only a matter of time before Martha was able to see that Jesus is who He says He is!
He is our Lord, our Savior, our access to life everlasting.

About this Plan

Who is Jesus? We get a glimpse into that answer through studying some of the I AM statements that Jesus makes throughout the Gospels. Through understanding the I AM statements, we come to know Jesus as the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, our Savior.
