You Are NOT Too Young!

"Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."

Don’t ever feel like your opinion or thoughts don’t matter because you are young. Even in your youth, what you think, feel, and believe is very important, especially to God. It is amazing that Timothy was chosen by Paul to be one of his missionaries. Paul, was a keystone figure in the early church. He wrote most of the New Testament, and the fact that he chose Timothy to serve with him, illustrates that youth doesn’t matter in God’s eyes. Timothy was a great helper to Paul and ended up being a great leader in the early days of the church despite his youth.

Listen to what Timothy is writing; be an example. Be a good example to your friends at school, in your sports arenas, within your church youth group, within your clubs, hobbies, and work. How are you to be a good example? Lead out in your speech, making sure your words are kind, full of love, and pure. Be an example in the way you live and love others, always treating everyone with respect and love, and being kind even to the people outside of your group. Be an example in your faith, which means you don’t always have to have the answers; be transparent, and let others you don’t know but you are eager to learn. And lastly, be an example in your purity, putting God first and realizing your body is the home of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Father,

Thank you that my age is not a factor with you. I love that you “see” me, and you have a plan for my life. Give me wisdom on how to be a good example to everyone that I am in contact with. Guide me, every step of my life. I pray that my life will make a difference even as a teenager.
