God’s Little Astronomer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for KidsSample

Day 2: Stars Matter
It is estimated that our universe contains more than 200 billion trillion stars, yet God counts them and knows their names. More amazingly, He knows YOUR name!
On a clear night, you can see thousands of stars with your own eyes. Just think, God knows every star and its name! You are more special than the stars. God knew you before you were even born! You are like a star, shining with Jesus’ light.
Stand in Awe:
Have you heard of these names? Sirius, Rigel, Betelgeuse, Alpha Centauri A, and Pollux? These are some of the names of the stars in the sky.
Discuss:
You are special to God. How can you let your family and friends know that they matter to God, too? How can you shine with Jesus’ light?
Pray:
Dear God, You are amazing! You know every star’s name and see each one. You know me and even how many hairs are on my head. I love You. Amen.

About this Plan

Based on Tina Cho’s book, God’s Little Astronomer, this devotional will help families behold the beauty of God’s creation—from the stars and planets to asteroids and meteoroids. Young astronomers will understand that God’s creation reflects His love for them. God’s glory shines throughout the heavens, but His children matter most. Embark on an out-of-this-world journey through outer space and marvel at God’s handiwork and love!
