God’s Little Astronomer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for KidsSample
Day 3: Unique Planets
Eight planets travel around the sun. God sets them in their places and keeps them in perfect order. How great is our God! Little astronomer, have you seen the planets? No two of them are alike. Our creative God who made the planets created YOU!
Stand in Awe:
Do you know the names of all eight planets in our solar system? There’s tiny Mercury, cloudy Venus, our blue Earth, red Mars, giant Jupiter with its Great Red Spot, Saturn surrounded by rings of ice and rock, blue-green Uranus tilted on its side, and blue Neptune with its six rings. And that’s not all! Dwarf planets like Pluto orbit the sun, too.
Discuss:
Which is your favorite planet? Perhaps you can look through a telescope and view it. Think about how God created you uniquely different inside and out.
Pray:
Thank You, God, for making the planets unique and special, just like me. Amen.

About this Plan
Based on Tina Cho’s book, God’s Little Astronomer, this devotional will help families behold the beauty of God’s creation—from the stars and planets to asteroids and meteoroids. Young astronomers will understand that God’s creation reflects His love for them. God’s glory shines throughout the heavens, but His children matter most. Embark on an out-of-this-world journey through outer space and marvel at God’s handiwork and love!
