Evangelism Explained

Here is the great thing about evangelism: You already have everything you need to evangelize! What do you need to evangelize, you might ask? At the most basic level, all you need is knowledge of Jesus's sacrifice and a personal testimony to share!

Share the Gospel:

The most famous scripture that even those who do not profess Christianity know is probably John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Verse 17 continues: "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

What makes us Christians is our belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life and died in place of us so that we could be reconciled to God, and we have the responsibility to share that with others. Hopefully, that serves as a reminder to you. Still, there's another thing that you can share to enhance your evangelistic efforts.

Share your Testimony:

Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." A testimony is simply your account of how your relationship with Jesus has impacted your life. It could be the dramatic change from a troubled past to a righteous present, a challenging life situation, or the moment you surrendered a relationship, job, or financial struggle to God and witnessed Him make a way.

Sharing what the Lord has done in your life is a powerful way to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. No testimony is too big or too small to share with someone who needs to learn about God's goodness. Sometimes, what we consider insignificant can hold great importance in restoring someone's faith in Jesus. Someone needs to hear your story and understand how the Lord guided you through difficult times.

As you continue to study and grow in your understanding of who God is, sharing the Gospel and your testimony fulfills the Great Commission and the responsibility we, as believers, have to share our faith. Who will you share the Gospel or your testimony with today?

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your sacrifice. I desire to share your sacrifice with others because you did it for everyone. Give me the confidence to share the good news and my testimony. Help me find the person/people to witness to today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
