When Trust Becomes TestimonySample

Week 4: Living Out Trust
Trust That Leads to Peace
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)
When we crane our necks looking for something–anything–that will bring us comfort, we may run to temporary relief that can never satisfy. If we trust in our own abilities, the reliance of another person, or self-soothing fixes that tend to slip into addiction, we’ll fall short on the peace we desperately crave.
If we trust in God, however, we already have a steady start to peace. He is trustworthy, and the more we fix our gaze at Him, the more everything else clamoring for our attention falls away. As we think of His good and perfect attributes, we gain more confidence in who He is and all He says He will do. Letting go of what we’re holding onto gives God the go-ahead to develop our character. We release what keeps us up at night and entrust the outcome to Him. In our choosing to trust God, we trade panic for peace.
He will keep us in His perfect peace as we set our minds and hearts on Him and walk out our faith daily in our choices and actions.
The truth for today is: Trust in God gives us peace. He is handling everything.
Prayer:
Lord, I long for the peace You offer. Steady my heart and mind to trust in You and fill me with joy and peace as I believe. Amen.
Reflection Question:
What thought pattern can you redirect toward trust in God today?
