Purpose of Prosperity: Why God Blesses You

He blesses us so we can become a blessing. Prosperity isn’t just about what’s in your account; it’s about who your life helps account for. (Genesis 12:2 – “I will bless you… and you will be a blessing.”)

When God elevates you, it’s not just for enjoyment (though He does want you to enjoy it!). It’s also for an assignment. You become a sponsor of good things, a lifter of others, a kingdom financier, and a hope dispenser in a world full of despair. Think of people like Joseph, Esther, or Lydia. Their resources weren’t just for luxury; they were divinely positioned to solve national-level problems. God gave them more so they could do more.

And here’s the secret: purposeful prosperity doesn’t run dry. The more you align your wealth with God’s purpose, the more He trusts you with increase. If your heart says, “God, bless me so I can bless others,” you’ll find yourself connected to divine supply chains that never run out. Why? Because God has found a channel, not a reservoir.

So, as you pursue wealth, remember: the goal is not just to “blow.” It’s to build lives, homes, churches, missions, communities, and legacies. It’s to hear one day, “Well done, good and faithful steward.” Not just “Well counted.” Let God make you wealthy with a reason. That’s where the real joy is.
