DAY 4 OF 5

Falling in Love with His Providential Plan

In our journey of falling in love with prayer, we've explored the process that follows falling for God's presence, which, in turn, comes after falling for the person of God. Now, let's delve into falling in love with the providential plan of God.

Often, we find ourselves stuck in what feels like a never ending cycle, especially in prayer, as a deferred dream can leave the heart longing. Many times, we get entangled in the permissible will of God, wandering in the wilderness. Consider the children of Israel: they craved quail, despite receiving manna directly from God's hand. Yet, when they indulged in what they desired, it led to dire consequences—death while the quail was still in their teeth. We've encountered situations where what we sought and prayed for brought unexpected outcomes.

Falling in love with the prayer process means seeking the providential will of God. It involves pushing for His highest and chiefest plan, not merely chasing after prophetic words or relying on others to pray for us. It's about unraveling the mysteries of God and longing for His foremost plan over our own wants, desires, and lusts. This marks the journey to maturity, where we become content with where we are and what we have, learning to abound and abase, because we are on a purposeful trajectory.

This is the juncture of destiny, where we walk through doors ordained by God. No longer at war with Him, we find peace. Some who pray fervently may still feel like they're at war with God because answers seem elusive—sometimes the battle is internal. Falling in love with the providential will involves relinquishing the permissible will and letting God take the helm.

So, let's pray together: "Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for your providential will. I desire what cannot be changed, your first choice, what your finger wrote. I acknowledge that I've toyed with the permissible will, thinking it was about me. Now, I declare that I want what you want. Help me strive for that place of rest with you in the providential plan. I know there will be ups and downs, valleys and mountain tops, but as long as you are with me, I will fear nothing. You are my shepherd, and I lack nothing. You are my comfort, my delight. I trust your will. In Jesus' name, amen."

Reflection:

Practice waiting on God. Often we will pray with a made-up mind. We do not wait to see what GOD will say. Practice praying and waiting 3 times, once you have heard the same answer three times...now move forward.
