Blessed to Be a BlessingSample

Day 6 — All Peoples Will Be Blessed: God’s Heart for the Nations
From the very beginning, God revealed something astonishing: His blessing was never meant for one man, one family, or one nation. When God spoke to Abraham in Genesis 12, He was unveiling His mission for the world. “I will bless you… you will be a blessing… and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (NIV, Genesis 12:2-3) The blessing was global from the start.
This means the heart of God has always been beating for every tribe, tongue, and nation. And if we belong to Christ, Paul says we are “Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (NIV, Galatians 3:29). His mission becomes our mission. His passion becomes our passion. His promise becomes our calling.
The story of Scripture is the unfolding of this global blessing — from Abraham, to Israel, to Jesus, to the early church, and finally to the scene Revelation describes: a multitude no one can count, from every nation and language, worshiping before the Lamb. History is marching toward that moment. And God invites us to participate in bringing it about.
But participation looks different for each of us. Some go. Some send. Some give. Some pray. Some welcome the nations God has brought to our cities and neighborhoods. All can take part. God never intended His blessing to stop with us. He intends it to move through us — outward, further, wider — until people who have never heard the name of Jesus finally hear that He died and rose for them too.
Today, lift your eyes beyond your own world. God’s mission is bigger than your comfort, bigger than your plans, bigger than your borders. You are blessed for the sake of the nations.
For Reflection:
Where has God already placed you — your relationships, workplace, city, or resources — to help extend His blessing beyond your world and toward the nations?
Gather Around the Table:
Share one practical step your group can take to bless the nations this month — praying, giving, welcoming, or going.

About this Plan

This 7-day devotional invites you into the biblical vision of blessing — not as something you hold on to, but as something God longs to move through your life. From creation’s first blessing in Genesis to Abraham’s pilgrim faith, from the character Jesus forms in us to the calling to bless the nations, each day traces how God turns ordinary people into conduits of His goodness. Through Scripture, reflection, and simple practices, you’ll learn to live not as a reservoir but as a river, receiving from God and releasing His blessing into the world.
