So much in this life feels impossible to us. Of course, there are some things we know are literally impossible, like teleportation, or mind-reading, or invincibility. But there are other things in our lives that feel impossible at times, like finding a job, working out a marriage, or fighting off anxiety. At times, seeing those things come to fruition in our lives can feel like a miracle. That’s when Jesus’ words from the book of Luke resonate with us all the more. In all things that feel impossible to us, we can remember we serve a God who can make anything possible.
That’s what the miracle of Easter reveals to us. Jesus’ defeat of death, once and for all, is only an act possible because of God. Our ability to be close to God and with Him for eternity is only possible because of the cross. So, the next time you face something that feels impossible in your own strength, remember the cross. Remember that God, once and for all, did the impossible for us. And that means, when we come to Him with hope that He’ll make a way—make a miracle—we can trust that He is good, capable, and loving, no matter the outcome. He can do the impossible in ways we may not even expect or imagine. Write this verse down somewhere you’ll see it often this week. Each time you come across it, let it remind you of the miracle of Easter and of the God who can still do the impossible in your life.

About this Plan

The story of Easter really is the story of a miracle. A miracle preceded by many others that all ultimately point us to one thing: the truth of who God is, how God loves us, and the way God is working on our behalf. In this devotional, we’ll look at three major miracles recorded in the gospel of John. As we do, we’ll see that these miracles were all pointing us toward something greater. We’ll see the reveal of the greatest miracle of all: the resurrection of Jesus.
