While this may be the Easter season—the time we celebrate the ultimate miracle of Jesus’ death and resurrection—we must remember that there wouldn’t be this miracle if there weren’t the miracle of Christmas first. To fully grasp the gift of what Jesus has done for us, we have to go back to the beginning: His arrival here on Earth. God sent Jesus to the world—fully God and fully man. And yes, He was sent ultimately for a greater purpose—a greater miracle that would reveal God’s desire to be close to us for eternity. He was sent to die on the cross for our sins and defeat death once and for all.
But we can’t forget the words of the angel who told of His arrival from the beginning. We can’t forget that Jesus also came to Earth simply to be God with us. That’s a miracle in and of itself! We have the very presence of God right with us every single day, and that alone is a revelation of God’s care, compassion, and love for us. That alone is worth celebrating this Easter! So, this week, do just that! Celebrate the gift of God’s presence this season and the miracle it is for your faith and your life.

About this Plan

The story of Easter really is the story of a miracle. A miracle preceded by many others that all ultimately point us to one thing: the truth of who God is, how God loves us, and the way God is working on our behalf. In this devotional, we’ll look at three major miracles recorded in the gospel of John. As we do, we’ll see that these miracles were all pointing us toward something greater. We’ll see the reveal of the greatest miracle of all: the resurrection of Jesus.
