Trust the Process

DAY 2 OF 7

SHIFTS THAT DON’T FIT THE STORY

Reflection:
Vision often unfolds through shifts that disrupt our carefully written plans. Mary’s pregnancy was not only miraculous, it was inconvenient, confusing, and socially costly. She had done everything right, yet God introduced a shift that did not fit her narrative. Some shifts feel positive, like sudden opportunity or favor, while others feel negative, like delay, loss, or misunderstanding. Both kinds of shifts test whether we trust God’s purpose more than our preference. Vision is refined when we release control and allow God to rewrite the script. Scripture reminds us that God’s purposes stand even when our plans fall apart. These moments are not interruptions but invitations to deeper trust. Rick Warren observes, “God’s plans are always bigger than our problems.” When life takes an unexpected turn, God is often positioning us for something greater than we imagined. Shifts expose what we truly believe about God’s sovereignty. They invite us to see beyond comfort and reputation and to align with divine purpose. What feels like disruption may actually be divine direction.

Application:
Reflect on a recent shift in your life that did not fit your expectations and honestly name how it made you feel. Choose to trust God’s purpose even when clarity is missing. Resist the urge to label every disruption as failure and instead ask what God may be forming in you. Commit to responding with faith rather than fear when plans change.

Prayer:
Lord, help me trust You when life shifts beyond my understanding. Align my heart with Your purpose even when the path feels unclear, Amen.
