DAY 15: JESUS — THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Study Scriptures:
John 10:11 (NKJV)
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”
Psalm 23:1–3 (NKJV)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.”
Isaiah 40:11 (NLT)
“He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in His arms, holding them close to His heart.”
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep by name. He leads with love, not force. When you surrender your will to Him, He guides you into peace, restoration, and safety. His voice calms the noise of life and directs you on the path of righteousness.
The Holy Spirit is your inner guide, the Shepherd’s voice within you.
In John 10:11‑16, Jesus calls Himself the “Good Shepherd” who knows His sheep and whose voice they recognize. The Holy Spirit is the way that voice lives inside us, constantly directing, protecting, and providing.
He corrects, comforts, and leads you away from danger.
Corrects – 2 Timothy 3:16‑17 says Scripture is useful for “teaching, rebuking, correcting.” The Spirit uses the Word to point out when we’re off‑track.
Comforts – John 14:26 calls the Spirit the “Helper” who will “teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said.” In grief or stress, He brings peace that steadies the heart.
Leads away from danger – Psalm 23:3 reminds us the Shepherd “guides me along the right paths.” The Spirit nudges you toward safe choices, often through a gut feeling, a conviction, or an opened door/closed door.
Even when life feels uncertain, trust that your Shepherd walks with you, ensuring you lack nothing.
Psalm 23:1 declares, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” The same assurance applies today: when the path is foggy, the Spirit whispers, “I’m here, I’ll provide, I’ll protect.” You may not see the whole road, but you have a constant, trustworthy Guide.
How to hear the Shepherd’s voice clearer
1. Quiet your heart– Spend a few minutes each day in silence, asking, “Spirit, what do you want to say?”
2. Study Scripture – The Spirit often speaks through verses that suddenly feel alive (e.g., a promise that fits your current need).
3. Pay attention to impressions – A sudden peace, a gentle tug, or a repeated thought can be His guidance. Test it against the Bible and wise counsel.
4. Obey promptly – When you sense a direction, take a step; obedience sharpens your ability to hear the next prompt.
The Holy Spirit is the Shepherd’s voice inside you correcting, comforting, and steering you away from harm. Even amid uncertainty, He walks beside you, guaranteeing that you won’t ultimately lack anything you truly need. Trust the inner nudges, stay tuned to His Word, and let the Good Shepherd lead you forward.
CONFESSION
The Lord is my Shepherd. I am guided, loved, and protected. I follow His voice, and my soul rests in His presence.
PRAYER DECLARATION
Lord Jesus, my Good Shepherd, thank You for leading me with tenderness and grace. Holy Spirit, help me to discern Your voice daily. Restore my soul where I am weary, and lead me beside still waters of peace. Amen.
