Through the Veil

DAY 1 OF 4

Day 1: Why I See

I have always seen angels, but sight alone never satisfied me; I needed to know what my seeing revealed about God’s nature. Early on, a “protection angel” at our church looked like a soldier—armor polished, posture steady—and for months I asked why he stood at the door if we’re already covered by Jesus’ blood and indwelt by the Spirit. Then the Spirit gave me a picture: a king’s ambassador escorted by an honor guard, not to outnumber enemies, but to declare, “My power goes with this one.” Presence was a proclamation; heaven was making a statement about value, assignment, and care.

During a 24-hour worship set, I saw a bluish-green smear of light sway above the team; I didn’t understand it until I saw that same light moving through people’s hearts and heard, “I’m syncing their heartbeats to Mine.” Not everything I see is literal, and not everything metaphorical is vague; most prophetic imagery is both poetic and practical—if interpreted through God’s character first. Interpretation, for me, begins where Scripture points: Jesus reveals the Father, and gifts mean nothing without love; sight is for service, not spectacle.

I’ve made mistakes—naming a demon without love at thirteen—and learned that accuracy without the Father’s heart can wound rather than heal. So my first question in any vision became, “What about God’s nature is being revealed here?” If my explanation shrinks His goodness or sidelines Jesus’ way, I slow down.

Today, invite God to make sight (or simple perception) reveal who He is before what to do. Look for His goodness, holiness, wisdom, and mercy as the key—then act in love.

Reflection Questions:

  • Where has curiosity outpaced compassion in spiritual things?
  • What situation needs God’s nature as the first lens?
  • Which attribute of God is hardest to trust right now?

Prayer:

Father, let every vision—and every decision—start with Your nature. Jesus, be the lens through which I see and speak. Holy Spirit, teach humble love that heals more than it impresses. Sync my heart to Yours.

About this Plan

Through the Veil

In this four-day devotional plan, Blake Healy invites readers to see what he sees: glimpses of angels, spiritual structures, and the Father’s heart shaping every moment. As you read, you’ll learn a simple rhythm—to look for God’s nature first, dismantle inner empires, practice humble interpretation, and release love that actually transforms. Each devotional blends story, Scripture, and practice so spiritual sight becomes everyday discipleship, tuning hearts to Jesus and sending clean, compassionate arrows that land in love.
