LOCK INSample

What do I do in the lonely place?
“And when you come before God, don’t turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for fifteen minutes of fame. Do you think God sits in a box seat?
Here’s what I want you to do. Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense His grace.”
Sometimes we can be guilty of saying what we think God wants to hear instead of being honest in His presence.
This is not a job interview.
It is not a performance.
It is a moment with our Heavenly Father, who already knows what we need before we ask.
The Scripture challenges us to be authentic and real. It gives us clear instructions on what to do in the lonely place. Be there simply and honestly.
As we do this, the focus shifts from ourselves to God, and we begin to sense His grace.
Prayer:
God, here I am. Honest and open.
I steady my heart to hear from You and only You.
As I sit in Your presence, speak to my heart.
I need Your grace and mercy today more than ever.

About this Plan

We all know what it’s like to lock in. To focus fully on the task at hand. It might be a test at school, a sporting competition, or preparing to perform at your best. When something matters, we prepare for it. So why do we often prepare so well for everything else, but neglect our relationship with God? It is our prayer this year that above all else, we would lock in to what matters most. Our relationship with God. Let’s lock in together.
