DAY 29 OF 30

LEARN FROM PHOEBE

What resources or influence do you have right now that you could use to serve your church and community faithfully?

Phoebe is definitely one of the coolest, but often overlooked, people in the early church. She’s the only woman in the New Testament specifically called a "deacon" of the church in Cenchreae. How cool?

Paul trusted her with a massive job: hand-delivering his letter—the Epistle to the Romans—from Corinth all the way to Rome. That was a serious, risky mission, and it tells you everything about how much Paul believed in her reliability and faith. He also praised her as a "helper". This means she was likely a generous patron or key supporter who used her money and connections to fuel the early Christian movement and look after people, including Paul himself.

Phoebe’s story really challenges us today. She wasn't seeking the spotlight; she was just a reliable, faithful servant who helped spread the Gospel using whatever she had—whether it was her ability to travel, her wealth, or just her great organisational skills. Her example proves that being faithful, dependable, and generous in serving others is a spiritual win in God's book.

Remember, making a real impact usually comes from faithful service, not necessarily being famous!
