DAY 1 - The Stone Has Been Rolled Away

The stone at Jesus’ tomb wasn’t just blocking an entrance, but it symbolized finality. Everyone thought the story was over, It looked like death had won and had the final word, or so it seemed.

But God sent an Angel who rolled the stone away.

The resurrection wasn’t just about Jesus walking out of the grave, but it was about destroying the separation between God and humanity. Jesus made a way where there was no way, as He declared that He is the only way. What once stood between us and God was moved out of the way by His power and mercy.

We love celebrating the empty tomb, but sometimes we still live like the stone is in place. We believe Jesus rose, yet we can live like separation still defines us. We worship resurrection power but still hold onto judgment toward ourselves and others.

If the stone is rolled away, why are we still throwing stones?

Resurrection mercy means we don’t get what we deserve but we get what we could never earn. The cross absorbed our judgment. The empty tomb announced freedom and access back to the Father.

REFLECTION

What “stone” do you need to stop carrying. Is it judgment toward yourself or toward someone else?

PRAYER

Jesus, thank You for making a way back to the Father. Help me live like the stone is truly rolled away. Teach me to drop the stones I keep picking back up and to walk in the mercy You’ve given me. Amen.
