Woes (S5 - E3)Sample

The Spirit of truth
In this passage, Jesus speaks about the “Spirit of truth.” He promises that the Holy Spirit will come after He leaves. While Jesus walked with the disciples, He taught them, corrected them, and led them. When He returned to the Father, the Holy Spirit would continue that work.
It is important to understand who the Holy Spirit is in order to notice His presence in your life. The Holy Spirit is not a force or an energy. Like Jesus, He is a person, and He is God.
What Jesus promised His disciples was not something small. It is an incredible gift: God living in us. The book of Acts shows us how that promise plays out on a large scale as the Spirit moves through the early church.
But let’s consider the personal impact as well. Jesus says He will not leave us as orphans.
An orphan is someone without a father or a mother — vulnerable, alone, without protection. Jesus assures His disciples that this will not be their reality. God Himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, will always be with them and in them.
This promise is for every follower of Jesus. You do not walk through life alone. God is always with you.
The Spirit of truth helps you, guides you, and shows you the truth. And in John 14:6, Jesus declares that He Himself is the truth. The Holy Spirit keeps pointing you to Jesus.
