Jesus is coming back!

Few topics create as much confusion as the return of Jesus. Over time, many theories and interpretations have developed, and it is easy to become absorbed in details and speculation.

But the end of the day, all the speculation boils down to two simple points:

1. Jesus is coming back.
2. Are you ready?

As for the details… Jesus Himself says that even He does not know the day or the hour. Only the Father knows. But He does assure us:

He is coming back.

Do you live with that reality? Do you ever wake up thinking, “Yes! Maybe today? Lord, I long to meet You.” Not as a form of escape — away from all the misery — but as a sincere longing for a Person you deeply love?

Are you ready?

Jesus tells His followers to stay watchful. Apparently, that is necessary. Apparently, it is possible to become distracted and lose sight of this reality.

Matthew 24 describes events that can easily consume a person’s attention. But be careful that these things do not distract you from the greatest thing that will happen:

Jesus is coming! Are you ready?

• How often do you reflect on Jesus’ return?
• What does the promise of Jesus’ return make you feel – hope, uncertainty, anticipation?
• What might it look like to live more intentionally in light of His return?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise that You will return. Help me stay watchful and faithful while I wait. When distractions pull my attention away from what matters most, draw my heart back to You. Shape my life so that I am ready whenever that day comes. Amen.
