Bigger Than Us

DAY 11 OF 30

Every one of us carries a load—worries about family, pressure at work, financial struggles, hidden fears, or deep grief. Some burdens are light enough to manage for a while; others feel like they might crush us if we try to carry them alone. Paul’s instruction to the Galatians was simple but profound: “Carry each other’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). In just four words, he gives us a picture of what Christian community is meant to be. Faith was never designed to be a solo journey. God knew we would need one another—to lift, to listen, to help, and sometimes just to stand beside each other in silence. When we step into someone’s struggle, we are living out “the law of Christ”—the law of love (John 13:34-35). Jesus carried our ultimate burden—sin and shame—to the cross. When we carry one another’s smaller burdens, we mirror His love to a watching world.

Who in your life might be carrying something heavy right now? What would it look like to share that load—through prayer, presence, or practical help? Are there burdens you’ve been trying to carry alone that God may be inviting you to share with someone else?

Pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for carrying the weight I could never bear on my own. Help me see the people around me who are struggling under their own loads. Give me courage to step in, compassion to listen, and humility to accept help when I need it. Teach me what it means to live out Your law of love by carrying the burdens of others.

About this Plan

Bigger Than Us

The real challenge in life is not how well we start but how we stay faithful over time. In this devotional, we will journey with God’s people as they move from brokenness to renewal. We’ll meet a God who uses personal burdens, teamwork, perseverance through opposition, His Word, and lifelong faithfulness to accomplish His purposes. When the opposition feels too strong, there’s a bigger God who meets us in the middle of it all—a God who works in and through ordinary people.
