True WorshipSample

DAY 1 – Rethinking Worship
Scripture
“Our fathers worshiped on this mountain…” John 4:20 (ESV)
Devotion
The woman at the well asks a familiar question. Where is the right place to worship?
For her, worship is tied to tradition and location. Mount Gerizim or Jerusalem.
We may not argue about mountains today, but we often define worship in similar ways. Style, atmosphere, music, and culture shape what we call worship.
Jesus does not enter the debate the way she expects. He begins to undo it.
Worship must be rightly understood before it can be rightly practiced.
Application
Let Scripture, not preference or tradition, define what worship truly is.
Prayer
Father, help me lay aside assumptions about worship. Teach me to see it as You define it, not as I have inherited it.

About this Plan

Worship is often reduced to music, atmosphere, or personal expression. But in John 4, Jesus redefines worship completely. In this 7-day journey, we explore what it truly means to worship the Father in spirit and truth, grounded in the saving work of Christ, shaped by God’s revealed truth, and made possible by the Spirit.
