True WorshipSample

DAY 2 – The Focus of Worship
Scripture
“…you will worship the Father.” John 4:21 (ESV)
Devotion
Jesus shifts the focus from place to person.
Worship is not defined by place or form, but by its object, the Father.
This confronts a subtle danger. Worship can become centered on our experience, what we feel, what we enjoy, what moves us.
But true worship begins with God. He determines how He is to be worshiped.
We do not define Him. We respond to Him.
Application
Fix your attention on the Father. Let who He is, not how you feel, shape your worship.
Prayer
Father, turn my eyes away from myself and toward You. Let my worship be centered on who You are.

About this Plan

Worship is often reduced to music, atmosphere, or personal expression. But in John 4, Jesus redefines worship completely. In this 7-day journey, we explore what it truly means to worship the Father in spirit and truth, grounded in the saving work of Christ, shaped by God’s revealed truth, and made possible by the Spirit.
