The Integrity Game Plan

My Dad didn’t just coach players he coached character. He believed who you were off the field mattered more than who you were on it. I watched him choose honesty even when it cost him. He didn’t cut corners. He didn’t cheat the system. He didn’t bend his values to win applause and now that he’s gone, I realize integrity was never about reputation it was about alignment with God. Even when no one else was watching he chose what was right. That is what blessed his children, the players, his community. That is what built legacy. Integrity is the quiet discipline of doing right when it would be easier not to. His life preached that louder than any whistle ever could. We must let our lives honor God in all we do. Christ modeled this perfectly. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, no crowd was watching. No disciples were there applauding His resistance. It was just Him and the enemy. He could have taken the shortcut, turned stones to bread, tested God’s protection, accepted power without the cross. He refused to compromise. He chose obedience over convenience. He chose alignment with the Father over immediate gratification. May our daily choices preach long after our voices are silent. We must allow the ultimate Coach to write our playbook.

Lord,

Thank You for Your constant guidance and for giving us Jesus as our perfect example, not only in what He taught us, but in how He lived. Thank You for showing us what integrity looks like in action, what obedience looks like under pressure, and what love looks like when it is tested. Teach us to choose righteousness even when it costs us comfort, popularity, opportunities, or applause. When the easy road tempts us, give us the courage to take the right one. When compromise feels convenient, remind us that alignment with You is worth more than approval from people. Help us stand firm in conviction when others waver, anchor us in truth. Let us not be swayed by trends, pressure, or fear. Give us boldness without arrogance and humility without weakness. May our children, our families, and those watching our lives feel secure because we are consistent. Let them see steady character, not unpredictable reactions. Let them see faith that does not fluctuate with circumstances. Make us the same person in private that we are in public. In Jesus name,
