DAY 5 OF 7

Forgiveness Huddle

My Dad forgave quickly. Not because the offense was small, but because his heart was settled. He didn’t rehearse what was done to him. He didn’t build a case. He didn’t gather allies to validate his frustration. He addressed what needed to be addressed. He corrected when correction was necessary. Yet he never humiliated people in the process. He believed mistakes were moments for growth, not permanent labels. He believed in restoration. That’s why people trusted him. Forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t hurt. It doesn’t excuse the betrayal. It doesn’t erase consequences. What it does is remove the weight from your own chest. It relieves the burden. It refuses to allow someone else’s actions to control your peace. It says, “This hurt me, but it will not harden me.” When resentment leaves, clarity returns. When bitterness leaves, strength returns. Forgiveness strengthens leadership because it clears the heart and this is not just a human principle, it is a divine one. God forgives us daily. Every morning we wake up under mercy we did not earn. Jesus modeled this principle perfectly. He was betrayed by Judas, someone who walked with Him, ate with Him, learned from Him, and still He chose love over revenge. Today, you get to decide if you will offer forgiveness or hold bitterness in your heart.

Reflection:

Who do I need to release in order to move forward freely?

What do I need to forgive about myself?

Encouragement:

“Forgiveness frees the heart of the one who extends it.”

Prayer

Lord,

Thank You for being a forgiving Father. Thank You for the mercy You extend daily and the grace You pour out without measure. Before You ever ask us to forgive, You show us what forgiveness looks like. Lord, on behalf of every heart struggling to release an offense, we ask that You soften every heart that has become hardened. For those carrying wounds from betrayal, disappointment, abandonment, or harsh words, bring healing. Remove bitterness where it has taken root. Replace resentment with grace. Replace anger with peace. Teach us to forgive fully and without conditions, not because the hurt was small, but because freedom is greater. Help us reflect your mercy in how we treat others and how we treat ourselves .Let us be reminded how You Yourself modeled forgiveness. You provided the playbook. May we walk in emotional and spiritual freedom.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
