You Can't Give What You Don't Have

If I asked to borrow a casual two billion dollars, could you loan it to me? Unless you are a secret heir to Jeff Bezos, probably not.

When we finally understand the grace, forgiveness, freedom, and beauty that come with living in God's design, we want everyone we love to experience it. Especially the people closest to us: spouses, kids, siblings, friends, coworkers.

But here is the catch. Many people are genuinely moved by the reality of God's love and His design for their lives, yet they never bring the car in for realignment. They are inspired, but not changed. Moved, but not transformed. They never begin actually living in this new reality.

If you want the people you love to experience God for real, it has to be real for you first. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you cannot give away a peace you have never received. The most powerful thing you can do for the people around you is to stop talking about living in God's design and start actually doing it.

Questions to pray on:

1. Who in your life do you most want to experience God's design? What would it look like for you to live it out first?
2. Is your faith genuinely real to you, or are you mostly hoping it will rub off on others? Be honest.
3. What is one concrete step you can take this week to move from being moved by God's love to actually living in it?
