Exodus 12:47 NLT
The whole community of Israel must celebrate this Passover festival.
What was the Passover? It was deliverance time for Israel.
So they were commanded to remember it always and celebrate.
Celebrations are not just for birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. But everything God has done for us calls for celebration!
We really must learn to celebrate because that is the heart of God. This whole week we are going to celebrate Jesus and His blood.
To celebrate means to remember and rejoice.
1 Pet 1:18-19 NLT
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
God saved me from an empty life, full of sin and empty of meaning. And He had to pay a ransom to save me.
A ransom is the payment demanded for the release of a prisoner. We all had become slaves to sin and therefore prisoners doomed to die according to God’s righteous law. But Jesus paid the ransom - His precious blood - righteous in the place of sinner, and bought our freedom.
I still remember the sound of the prison door opening and me stepping out.
That’s why I celebrate the blood.
Meditate:
* Mark 10:45 NLT
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Pray:
* Think for a moment where you would have been if Jesus had not found you.
* Thank the Lord for giving His blood as a payment for your freedom.
* Praise God for His plans for you to give you a full life instead of the empty one you were living.
* Ask Him to use your life for His glory.
