Psalm 42:4 GNB

My heart breaks when I remember the past, when I went with the crowds to the house of God, and led them as they walked along, a happy crowd, singing and shouting praise to God.

My heart breaks when I remember...the house of God...

But I like what the very next verse says:

Psalm 42:5 GNB

Why am I so sad? Why am I so troubled? I will put my hope in God, and once again I will praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Hope is the expectation of good in the future. Hope changes everything; it’s like drops of water to a dying plant. The psalmist has hope - not in any man but in God. Therefore he reminds himself that there is no need to be sad or troubled. Once again I will praise Him! Once again my God will come through for me!

Hope changes our song!

Lamentations 3:21-23 GNB

Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing: the Lords unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.

As sure as the sunrise, His love and His mercies are there for you today. Let hope return, let hope arise, let hope abound.

I will yet praise Him!

Meditate:

* Lamentations 3:24

The Lord is all I have, and so I put my hope in Him.

Pray:

* Ask the Lord to fill your heart with hope once again.

* Pray for revival to come to your city.

* Declare His mercies over your whole church family.
