Meditations on Messiahنموونە

A Light for the Nations
In the temple that day, an old man’s waiting came to an end. Simeon had held on to a promise spoken by the Spirit — that he would see the Lord’s Messiah before his death. When Mary and Joseph placed the child in his arms, he knew. His eyes beheld the salvation of the world.
Simeon’s words still move through history: a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory for Israel. What began in the quiet of Bethlehem was never meant to stay hidden. The light of Christ reaches beyond borders and generations, shining into every nation, every culture, every heart that longs for truth.
As Simeon held Jesus close, he was holding the hope of all humanity. That same light still finds us, revealing what is true, healing what is broken, and guiding us home to the Father. The Messiah who entered the world in weakness now reigns in glory, and His light will never fade.
One day, that light will fill all things. Every nation and tribe will gather around His throne, and the praise of earth will join the song of angels. Until that day, we carry His light into the world, that others may see and believe.
For Reflection
Where might Jesus be inviting me to carry His light today, so others can see His hope and glory?
Gather Around the Table
Pray that the light of Christ will shine through your life and draw others to His love.
