River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

The book of Ruth was written during the time when the Judges helped govern Israel. Naomi tragically loses her husband and two sons, leaving her with just her daughters-in-law. She asks them to go back and remarry, but Ruth stays with Naomi. As Ruth is out gathering food, she runs into Boaz, who is a relative of Naomi and their family redeemer. This was a practice in Israel to make sure that women and children were cared for when their husbands died at a young age. Naomi and Ruth then begin to devise a plan to get Boaz's attention.
