Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "A Place of Power"

DAY 14 OF 31

In 2021 when the Covid-19 delta variant was on the rise in Indonesia, my husband and I were infected. Worry and fear overwhelmed my heart and mind.

With my strength, I looked for a hospital bed for my husband, who showed moderate symptoms. It was a futile attempt as there were none available. The hospitals were full. I questioned God if He had abandoned us. I looked to the heavens in times of desperation and was reminded of Psalms 8:3-5 above.

When we are faced with a problem, that shifts our focus on God. We didn’t automatically seek His help but struggled using our efforts to solve the problem. Only when the problem got heavier did we ask if God really cares for us. The fact of the matter is, God never ignores us. It is us who forget to come to Him. Remember to keep your focus on His Words and seek His help.

Devotion for Parents
As an adult, we can be drowning so deeply in work, routines, and problems that we forget to come to God and ask for His help in our lives.

Start the day with a prayer. Always involve God in every aspect of your life.

Devotion for Kids
Have you ever felt like the people around you were ignoring you? As if no one was listening to you.

Sometimes, people can be so busy that they seem to lose interest in what we want to say. Stay calm; God is listening. He listens to your every story, the good and the bad. Pray to God every day. He never ignores you or lets you be by yourself.

Family Devotion Time
Make time with your family to tell each other stories.

It can be about what happened in school, on the road, at work, etc.

Then pray for one another.

Ask God to help you focus on Him and live with Him.

Power! A thing that is desired by all humans, even though human power is limited. On the other hand, our God, who is the source of all power, is eager to pour out His power for all of us. The question is, how do we receive it? This devotional will invite all of us, both parents and children, to understand how to activate God's power in our lives.
