DAY 3 OF 8

Day 3: The Queen’s Mindset

“You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.” (Isaiah 62:3)

A queen never reigns without a clear purpose. Her vision, priorities, and the way she invests her time and resources all hinge on one key question: “What’s the real win here?” Though simple, it’s a question with transformative power because it pushes us beyond appearances and focuses our hearts on what matters most to God’s Kingdom.

Initially, we might measure “success” by personal milestones: publishing a book by a certain age, reaching a specific financial goal, or hosting large-scale conferences. There’s nothing wrong with having ambitions or dreams. However, a queen’s mindset shifts our focus from ourselves to the responsibility God has entrusted to us. Instead of asking, “What do I want to achieve?” we start asking, “What has God given me to steward, and how can I maximize it for His Kingdom?” It’s a radical change of perspective: no longer aiming for fleeting applause or external recognition, but for faithfulness, serving others, and making a lasting impact.

Wendy shares a revealing story: during a meeting, she presented an idea that went almost unnoticed. A few minutes later, a man restated her idea, and it was celebrated as a “brilliant insight.” Naturally, it was frustrating, but Wendy chose not to get stuck in resentment. She decided instead to focus on the real win—the greater benefit: a project that would bless many people, regardless of who got the credit. This doesn’t mean silently tolerating every injustice, but rather discerning which battles are truly worth fighting and which require a heart anchored to a bigger vision.

Another key aspect of the queen’s mindset is recognizing the difference between feeling “stuck” and being in a season of preparation. We sometimes go through times when our progress feels slow or nonexistent, yet often God is at work “behind the scenes,” strengthening our character, wisdom, and maturity. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” A queen knows that no season is wasted, for God can even use apparent standstills to shape our future in unexpected ways.

When we embrace this perspective, the pressure to constantly prove our worth diminishes. We’re free to learn from our mistakes, rejoice in others’ achievements, and praise God for every small step forward. The heart of a queen’s mindset is not about accumulating personal accolades but about being faithful to the task entrusted to us, contributing to a generational impact that surpasses our initial expectations.

Practical Tips for Developing a Queen’s Mindset:

  • Redefine Your “Win”
    • Ask yourself questions like, “What has God entrusted to me in this season?” and “Who will be blessed by my faithfulness?”
    • Define success based on God’s Kingdom, on the growth of those under your care, and on your obedience to His call.
  • Create a Stewardship Inventory
    • List the gifts, talents, resources, and relationships God has entrusted to you.
    • Ask, “Am I really making the most of what I’ve received, or am I holding back due to fear or insecurity?”
    • Choose a practical step you can take in the coming weeks to improve how you steward at least one of these areas.
  • Recognize the Difference Between “Stuck” and “Preparation”
    • If you feel at a standstill, ask, “Is there something I’m afraid to face, or is God preparing me in a way I don’t yet understand?”
    • Use this time to learn, pray, study Scripture, and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance, trusting that even slow seasons serve a purpose in God’s plan.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for calling me to reign with a clear purpose and with the certainty of Your guidance. Help me redefine victory according to Your standards, not human expectations. Teach me to invest wisely the gifts and opportunities You’ve given me, and make me attentive to those seasons of preparation where You shape my character and my faith. I long to serve You faithfully, knowing that every small step, when done for Your Kingdom, can produce fruit that endures. Amen.
