Queen Me - Exclusive Devotional by Wendy PerezSample

Day 8: Anchor Your Crown
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” (Hebrews 6:19)
A queen’s strength arises from the solidity of the ground beneath her feet. If you desire to reign with confidence, assurance, and authority in God’s Kingdom, the Word of God cannot be optional—it is the rock on which your entire life must be built. “For the word of God is alive and active” (Hebrews 4:12). It’s no mere historical text, but an eternal foundation that establishes your royal identity and shields you from lies and doubts that try to unsettle you.
The Word is the sword that protects your crown (Ephesians 6:17). Just as Jesus responded to temptation in the wilderness with a decisive “It is written” (Matthew 4:1–11), we, too, can face criticisms, insecurities, and daily challenges by declaring what Scripture says about us. We don’t need arguments or personal opinions; the divine truth is the only truly effective weapon against the adversary’s deception.
Over the years, Wendy has seen talented, gifted women stumble— not due to lack of ability, but because they lacked deep roots in Scripture. Even the most charismatic among us can be led astray without a stable anchor. Culture changes, circumstances shift, but God’s Word remains unshakeable. When you immerse yourself in Scripture regularly, you experience a gradual yet consistent transformation in your thinking and actions. False beliefs crumble, while awareness of your worth and your calling grows, making your “crown” unassailable.
Remember that the Bible is not merely informational—it’s transformational. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105). As you read it expectantly, your heart aligns with God’s will, your mind is renewed, and your steps find clear direction. There is no shortcut to a deep relationship with the Lord—it requires time, consistency, and a genuine desire to engage with His truth.
When you build your life on the Bible, you no longer seek human confirmation to feel “enough”: you know you’ve been chosen, loved, and prepared by God for an eternal purpose. That’s why “anchoring your crown” means safeguarding your royal identity—it’s non-negotiable and cannot be delegated. No criticism or difficult season can erode your worth, because your source of security is unassailable and perfect.
Practical Tips for Anchoring Your Crown in the Word:
- Evaluate Your Current Foundation
- Ask yourself honestly: “When I face a problem, do I seek ‘human’ advice first, or do I open the Bible in search of wisdom?”
- Recognize whether Scripture is an occasional resource for you, or a daily pillar in your life.
- Establish a “Queenly Strategy” for the Word
- Choose a sacred time each day to meet with God through the Bible. Defend that time as you would an important appointment.
- Read with intention: expect guidance and revelation, and invite the Holy Spirit to enlighten your heart.
- Apply what you read: How can you immediately live out the truth you’ve encountered?
- Guard Your Thoughts
- Identify where culture or social pressures clash with biblical truth.
- Write down Scripture-based affirmations to replace any distorted narratives shaping your mindset.
- Create Your Circle of Accountability and Growth
- Share the verses and teachings that have impacted you with other women of faith.
- Encourage one another to stay on course, discussing doubts, discoveries, and victories together.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that Your Word is a stable and secure anchor. Today I choose to base my identity, my calling, and every decision on what You say about me. Help me protect the time I devote to meditating on Scripture, to read it with an open heart, and to put it into practice. Amen.
