Alive and on Fire - a Video Devo With Illusionist, Dustin TavellaSample

Let’s Get Real:
The video you just watched was an illusion—a trick. But the truth about God? No illusion!
He really can and does fill us up in ways that seem impossible.
If you’ve ever felt numb, stuck, or like your faith is running on fumes— you’re not alone.
Everyone goes through dry seasons. But here’s the key:
Don’t ignore the numbness.
And definitely don’t walk away from your faith because of it.
Instead, let’s build an action plan for those moments when your excitement fades and your passion seems flat.
God Never Runs Dry
The Bible reminds us over and over again:
- God is everlasting.
- His love is constant.
- His strength is limitless.
- His kindness is unending.
In other words, He never runs out of what you need.
And more than that— He is all you need.
So when you feel like you’ve got nothing left, remember:
You have full access to the Source of everything good, holy, and life-giving.
Let’s Talk Emotions
We’re human. That means our emotions are all over the place.
Sometimes we’re on fire for God.
Other times… we feel nothing.
And weirdly, our hearts can even feel more drawn to chaos, drama, or things that hurt us than to the peace and purpose God offers.
That doesn’t make you broken—it just makes you real.
But here’s the good news: God doesn’t base His love on your emotional state.
He’s steady even when you’re not.
He’s pouring out goodness—even when you’re not “feeling it.”
So, What Now?
This devotional is here to help you build habits that carry you through the low-energy, low-feeling seasons of faith.
Not everything will feel exciting. But everything can still be meaningful.
Here’s your challenge:
- Stay rooted in truth, not your moods.
- Keep your eyes open for daily reminders of God's faithfulness.
- Be intentional about filling your life with what brings life —His Word, His people, His purpose.
- And when you feel empty, don’t panic. Reach out to Him. He fills empty things.
You Were Made for More
God wants you to live with joy, with purpose, and with a heart that overflows—not just for your sake, but for the people around you.
You were made to live in a way that not only fills you up but spills over into the world around you.
If that doesn’t feel like where you’re at right now, it’s okay.
That’s exactly what this plan is for.
Let this be a reset. A recharge. A reminder.
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, I don’t always feel excited or passionate, but I know You haven’t changed. Help me build a faith that isn’t based on emotions, but on truth. Fill me again with Your joy, Your strength, and Your peace. I want to live a life that reflects You, even on the days I feel empty. Amen.
Bottom Line:
You don’t have to fake passion to stay close to God.
But you do need a foundation that holds you steady when passion fades.
By the end of this Bible plan, you’ll have tools to stay grounded, encouraged, and fully alive in Christ— whether your feelings are along for the ride or not.
