DAY 7 OF 8

For some reason, a lot of us feel weird or even embarrassed when it comes to talking about our faith. Maybe we’re afraid people will think we’re trying to act “holier than thou.” Maybe we’re scared of being made fun of or seen as hypocrites. Maybe we just don’t want to be watched under a microscope.

Whatever the reason is, here’s the truth:the more we speak up about our faith, the more normal and natural it becomes. Fear shrinks when confidence grows.

And why shouldn’t we be confident?

We are SAVED. We are MADE NEW. We are REDEEMED. We are FORGIVEN. We are LOVED by the God who created everything.

That’s not small. That’s not something to whisper about. That’s everything.

We should carry ourselves with boldness—not arrogance, but confidence. Heads held high. Hearts full of purpose. We belong to the King of Kings. We’ve been adopted into His family. That’s a big deal!

The world is desperate for real hope. And we have it. So why would we ever act like it’s something to hide?

Think about it: how will anyone come to believe that God is good if His people walk around like He’s something to be ashamed of?

Here’s a picture: Imagine I had the cure to a deadly disease you were struggling with. I told you I cared about you, but when you asked me for help, I just shrugged and talked about sports or school drama while the cure sat untouched on the table.

You’d probably wonder if I actually cared at all.

That’s what it’s like when we stay silent about Jesus.

Now hear me clearly: this isn’t about guilt or shame. I’m not trying to call anyone out—I ask these questions to myself all the time. WhywouldI be ashamed? What exactly am I afraid of?

We should be praying every day, “God, show me again just how amazing You are. Give me a deeper love for You, so I can’t keep quiet.”

Over the last few days of this devotional, we’ve talked about restoring our joy and passion. Now it’s time to let that passion out. It’s time to speak up. To live it out loud.

When you start giving God everything—your thoughts, your habits, your time, your words—you’ll begin to see real change. You’ll find freedom in ways you never expected. And that freedom? It’s worth sharing.

So invite others in. Tell your story. Live boldly. Love people deeply. And speak the name of Jesus with passion, humility, and courage. You might be surprised by how people respond—because deep down, the world is starving for the very hope you’ve already found.

Let the flame inside you spark fires in the people around you. Be the light. Be the hope. Be the reason someone else finds Jesus.

As the old song says—and it still hits hard: “Hide it under a bushel?” NO! I’M GONNA LET IT SHINE.”

Think About It:

  • What holds you back from talking about your faith? Be honest.
  • How would your life look different if you really believed there was nothing to be ashamed of?
  • Who in your life needs to hear about the hope you’ve found in Jesus?

Prayer You Can Pray:

God, help me stop shrinking back when it comes to You. Take away any fear or shame that keeps me quiet. I want to live boldly, with joy and passion, because I know what You’ve done in my life. Give me chances to share Your love, and give me the courage to speak when those moments come. Let my life shine so bright that others can’t help but see You. Amen.
