Father’s Love: 30 Days of Discovering God as FatherSample

Day 21 – A Rest Giver
Matthew 11:28 (NLT), Jesus tells us, “come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Take an inventory of everything stressing you out. What caused them? Some burdens are self-imposed, some are brought on by people, and some are brought on by situations beyond our control.
Now close your eyes and picture your heavenly Father sitting in a chair and asking you to bring everything that weighs you down to him. Now hand it all to him and then sit down and lean your head and shoulders on him and take a deep breath of relief. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength, wisdom and understanding to deal with all situations God’s way.
Practice setting aside 15 minutes of stillness daily with no distractions, no screens, just resting in God’s presence. Have a pen and paper and be expectant that He will speak to you.
Read, internalize, and pray each scripture to deepen your faith.
