Day 9 – A Healer

Our Father is a mighty healer! He says it plainly in Exodus 15:26 (NIV), “...I am the Lord, who heals you.” God not only heals bodies but also mends broken hearts. As Father, He restores what was lost. God did not create sickness or cause it, but He heals. I want to say here, if you’ve lost a loved one to sickness, I can’t imagine your pain and sometimes disappointment in God but know that your loved one did receive their healing as Revelation 21:4 (ESV) tells us, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” I pray that brings comfort and healing.

If you’re trusting God for healing for yourself, a friend or family, the Bible is full of wonderful healing scriptures that I encourage you to use as your prayer points and see the power of God heal. Father delights in making you whole—spirit, soul, and body.

Sometimes that healing can look like mending a broken relationship with your earthly father, mother, other family members or friends. You can’t force anyone to want to mend things with you to bring about healing. Sometimes forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation especially if reconciling may cause more harm and damage.

Closure doesn’t mean going back to a toxic person to discuss things if they’re not changed. Your job is to forgive and allow God to heal and mend the wounds. Pray and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you with any decision to go back and reconcile with someone because all healthy relationships are reciprocal.
