Peace in the StormSample

Wait with Hope
Isaiah is reminding God’s people that strength doesn’t come from striving — it comes from waiting on the Lord. And waiting here doesn’t mean sitting around doing nothing. It means trusting, serving, and leaning into Him with expectation. Like an eagle that soars instead of flapping endlessly, we find strength when we lean into His timing. Waiting is not wasted—it’s preparation for flight.
The promise is clear: when you wait on God, He gives you strength in exchange. That means He takes your weakness and trades it for His power. Notice the progression:
- “Mount up with wings as eagles”— that’s supernatural elevation. Eagles don’t flap frantically like other birds; they soar. God will give you the ability to rise above what once drained you.
- “Run and not be weary”— that’s endurance for the seasons that require speed and momentum.
- “Walk and not faint”— that’s daily strength for the long, ordinary stretches of life where you just need to keep going.
This verse shows us that God equips us for every stage — soaring moments, running seasons, and steady walking. No matter the pace, His strength sustains.
My waiting seasons have stretched me the most. Waiting for marriage, waiting for the job, waiting for the breakthrough, etc. pushed me deeper into my relationship with God. I hated the silence, but I realized God was strengthening me for what was next. Those seasons weren’t punishment; they were preparation, and you can't allow yourself to focus so much on what you're waiting for that you are unprepared for it when it comes.
Write down an area where you feel delayed and declare: “God is strengthening me here.” Believe that God has grace for your highs, your sprints, and even your slow, steady walks. Rely on His strength, not your own hustle. Instead of saying “I’m stuck waiting,” start saying, “I’m being renewed.” Don’t despise the waiting season; it’s where God is renewing you.
