Peace in the Storm

DAY 9 OF 30

Don't Grow Weary

Paul is encouraging the church here because doing good can get exhausting. Let’s be real: sometimes it feels like you’re pouring, serving, giving, loving — and nothing’s coming back. You pray, you sow, you stay faithful, but you don’t see fruit yet. That’s why Paul says, “Don’t grow weary.”

Weariness doesn’t just come from working hard — it comes from waiting long. But this verse reminds us that God has a calendar for your harvest. It says “at the proper time”— not your time, not their time, but God’s time. If you don’t give up, God promises a reward for faithfulness. The key is not speed—it’s endurance.

This is both encouragement and warning: if you quit too soon, you miss the harvest. If you keep going, you’ll see what you prayed for. God is faithful to reward your endurance.

I’ve been tempted to quit assignments when I didn’t see results right away. And I'll admit that I've wanted to forfeit the assignments I KNOW has placed me in because it wasn't going the way I thought it would. But though I wanted to leave, I stayed to course! I pushed myself into prayer when my first instance was to complain. I leaned into the promises of God and eventually, I saw fruit that came from seeds I planted earlier. It reminded me that faithfulness is never wasted.

Tell yourself today: “I will reap if I don’t quit.” Write that somewhere visible. Refuse to let weariness rob you of your reward. Keep sowing seeds of faith, love, and obedience -- the harvest is already scheduled. The delay is not denial; God's timing is perfect.
