Blessed, Chosen, Adopted

What if the tension you feel today doesn’t come from a lack of blessing, but from forgetting the blessing you already have? Paul tells us we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Eph. 1:3). These aren’t rewards for our performance, they are gifts of grace. Many believers still pace inside because they’re trying to earn what Jesus has already given.

But Paul goes further: You are chosen. You are adopted. You are not 'barely tolerated' or 'reluctantly accepted', you are delighted in! Before you ever took a breath, before you ever failed or succeeded, God set His affection on you.

In Ephesus, people sought favour through rituals, idols, and self-effort. But Paul says, “You’re already loved and accepted because of His finished work not your self effort. When you truly believe this, something shifts inside you. You stop living for acceptance and start living from it.

Adoption changes everything. It restores identity. It breaks rejection. It silences the inner voice that says, “I have to fix myself to be acceptable.” The good news is that God adopted you knowing every weakness, every wound, every struggle. And He still said,“You are mine.”

If you’re pacing today, thinking you need to earn your way to God, hear this clearly: Your adoption wasn’t your idea. It was His pleasure.

Let this truth become your seat today: You are blessed, chosen, and adopted in Christ.

Reflection Question:
Which part of your identity do you struggle to believe the most? Is it accepting you are blessed, believing you are chosen, trusting that you are adopted?

Practical Application
Take a moment to thank God out loud for choosing you before you could ever choose Him.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that I am chosen and adopted in Christ. Heal the places where rejection has shaped my heart. Teach me to live fully from the blessing You have already given. Amen.

Sit. Walk. Stand.

Have you ever noticed that you can be physically at rest, yet internally restless? The world, the flesh, and the devil all conspire to pull us out of that inner rest. But in his letter to the Ephesians, Paul anchors us in a greater truth: we are seated in Christ. This spiritual reality isn’t just a theological concept, it’s transformational. It’s meant to shape our internal world, grounding us in peace, identity, and purpose no matter what surrounds us. This study is designed to equip you to 'Stay in the Seat'.
