From Death to Life

Have you ever tried to fix something in your life only to feel like you’re dragging the same old patterns around? Paul says it plainly: You were dead (Eph. 2:1). Not struggling. Not damaged. Dead. And dead people can't improve themselves.

This diagnosis isn’t meant to shame, it’s meant to reveal the wonder of grace. When you were completely unable to reach for God, He reached for you. But God… those two words change everything (v. 4). You were dead, but God made you alive. You were lost, but God pursued you. You were powerless, but God raised you.

Grace isn’t God helping you try harder. Grace is resurrection.

And resurrection comes with purpose:“We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”(v. 10). You aren’t an accident God is trying to manage. You are His masterpiece, His poem, designed to reflect Christ in the world.

But many believers still pace inside because they’re trying to spray perfume on the old self instead of burying it with Christ. You weren’t saved to renovate the old identity, you were saved to walk in the new one.

Today, let grace wake you up again:
You were dead.
You are alive.
And you are alive for a purpose.

Reflection Question
Where are you still trying to “improve” what Jesus says is already dead and gone?

Practical Application
Write down one “old self” belief and one “new self” truth from Scripture. Choose to walk in the new today.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You that Your grace made me alive. Help me stop clinging to an old identity that no longer defines me. Strengthen me to walk in the purpose You prepared for me. Amen.

Sit. Walk. Stand.

Have you ever noticed that you can be physically at rest, yet internally restless? The world, the flesh, and the devil all conspire to pull us out of that inner rest. But in his letter to the Ephesians, Paul anchors us in a greater truth: we are seated in Christ. This spiritual reality isn’t just a theological concept, it’s transformational. It’s meant to shape our internal world, grounding us in peace, identity, and purpose no matter what surrounds us. This study is designed to equip you to 'Stay in the Seat'.
