  In the gaming world, we spend a whole lot of time searching for power ups. It doesn’t matter what game it is, we are always looking for that better weapon, piece of armor, or magic spell that will give us the edge over our opponents. Sometimes these searches can take up more game-time than the story itself!  

     Life is very similar in this fashion. We have a tendency to get caught up in the fruitless search for more worldly power. This power can take the form of the wrong use of money, influence, fame, or other abused temporal things.  These aspects of life give a temporary “boost” to our physical pleasure, pride, and ego. While these things may seem to help in the short run, they do nothing to secure our Eternal inheritance, and can actually HARM us! Only God can provide that type of power, which can be seen in today’s Bible verse.    

     As John so pointedly states, ALL who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and believe in His name, will receive the RIGHT to become Gods children. How exciting is that!? I can’t think of any temporal thing that could possibly compare to that amazing gift!  

     Just imagine it. Once you accept Jesus into your life and believe IN His name and power to work wonder’s in your life, you can walk in the assurance that you are now a son of the Living God. I can’t speak for you, but no video game “power-up” can compare with that in my estimation!  

     So, let us seek power at the source of ALL power. Let us rest in the peace of knowing that we are the children of God, and walk in His ways for all time. Let us receive the Lord’s blessings and believe in His never-ending power to perform life altering miracles in YOUR life TODAY!
