Bits And PiecesSample
I just started playing this game two weeks ago, which takes place about 300 years into the future on this very planet. It is not the world we now know, however. It is a world which has been ravaged by some new technology, that has left the planet in a state of decay. Robotic “animals” now infest the plains and mountainsides of America, while warring tribes of humans have built a new civilization.
While this may sound like a bleak future – even though it is strictly fiction – the story it tells shows a hope that should be familiar to every Christian. With death, comes renewal. There IS a resurrection to life after death - for those who believe and act on God’s truth.
Just like this fictional world had to “put off” its old self that was “corrupted” by this evil technology, so to should we be putting off our old self that has been corrupted by our selfish ways. We need to shed our old skin and put on a NEW one – one that has died to the self, and now lives for Christ. If a fictional world can be renewed after such vast destruction, surely we can be renewed. We have the Living God as our Heavenly Father!
This is not an easy task. There will be pain when we try to break our old habits. Sometimes it even feels like you are figuratively having all your teeth pulled! This is a necessary part of the Christian walk, however, and it is one that we CANNOT afford to ignore.
So, as today’s Bible verse says, let us allow God to create in us a new self, with a new attitude. Let us clothe ourselves in the righteousness and holiness of Christ. Let us be humble enough to let go of our old sinful nature and embrace the cleansing power of our Holy God.

About this Plan
It is my hope that you put down the controller and pick up your Bible. It is vital for us to broaden our horizons in life. This is especially true for gamers, who have a high tendency to be more isolated than most people. This devotional should help you be more aware of the spiritual lessons contained in a lot of the games we play. Praise be to God!
