THANKFUL
How well could you navigate life today with only what you thanked God for yesterday? It is very important that we learn to be thankful for the things we have. I would argue that it is even more important to thank him for the things he kept from us because we did not need it. It is easy to be thankful when things go right. What about when they feel wrong?
Scripture tells us to give thanks in everything. This means good, or bad. It is not always easy to thank God for our more challenging and stress filled days, but it is necessary. I can recall countless things I prayed for and was devastated in the moment that God chose not to release them. Certain relationships, jobs, and friendships are all things God kept from me for my good. As a result, I am thankful for the closed doors and you should be too.
Romans 8:28, states that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. This scripture reassures us that everything will be okay in God's will. We only need to give thanks on the journey. Giving thanks goes beyond being merely grateful. It is about acknowledging God for his goodness, most of which we do not even deserve.
Reflection
Everyone likes to be acknowledged and respected for the things they do. Take some time to really thank God for all he has either done for you or protected you from.
